HOW TO PLAY
PLAYDEN.

Everything you can do — collect, top up, open packs, battle in the Arena, race the Gauntlet, raid the Cavern, trade, host shows and climb the Path. Jump to any section, then dive straight into the action with the links inside.

Getting Started

Create an account, pass the gates, and find your way around.

  • Make an account — Join with an email and password. Playden is 21+ only — a one-time Age Gate and this How-To & Rules agreement appear on your first visit; you must accept both to enter.

  • Your credit balance — Credits are the in-world currency. Your live balance sits in the top-right of every page beside the bell and your profile.

  • The control deck — The neon tab bar is your map: Store, Explore, Playden (your collection), Redeem, Trades, Arena, Race, Cavern, Path, Talent Show, Upgrade, Ascend and Requests.

  • The Player Hub — Click your PLAYDEN brand badge (top-left) to open the Hub — a quick view of your tokens, inventory items and shortcuts.

Credits & Top-Ups

How to fund your account — crypto or Venmo.

  • Card top-up — Pay by card through Stripe, powered by Steele Industries. $5 buys 2,000 credits; purchase bonuses rise through 10%, 23%, 35% and 50%. Custom purchases use the same tiers.

  • Crypto top-up — Pay with cryptocurrency through the Store's secure checkout. Credits are added automatically once the on-chain payment confirms.

  • Venmo top-up — Prefer Venmo? Send to @Playden-INC and submit a top-up request in the Store. An admin reviews and approves it, and you're pinged the moment it lands.

  • Earn credits in-game — Activities award small credit amounts alongside items and equipment. Ordinary credit rewards are reduced by 90%, with at least one credit for a positive reward. Purchases, refunds and player-funded transfers are unchanged.

  • No refunds — All credit purchases and in-game spends are final. Credits and digital cards carry no cash value and are non-refundable — please top up deliberately.

The Store, Packs & Gear Market

Open packs, crack gear crates, and trade gear with other collectors.

  • Buy & rip packs — Each pack mints brand-new cards using published rarity odds. Every card arrives with its own original name, lore and randomly-rolled traits.

  • Bulk purchases — Short on time? Buy packs in bulk to open a whole batch at once and fast-track your roster.

  • Rarity odds — Higher-tier packs shift the odds toward rarer cards. The exact drop chances are shown before you buy — no hidden math.

  • Gear Crates — Buy a sealed crate and the house forges a random piece of gear at the crate's rarity, straight into your Adventure bag — discounts are flagged right on the crate.

  • Player Gear Market — Browse gear listed by other collectors (filter by rarity, search, sort by price) and buy it outright. List your own spare gear from the Adventure bag at a suggested price — a small house fee applies on sale.

  • Tokens & Reroll Tokens — The Store also stocks inventory tokens like Reroll Tokens — spend one in the Upgrade forge to reroll a card section for free instead of paying credits.

Redeeming Codes

Claim cards and credits from shared codes.

  • Enter a code — Got a code from an event, a friend, or a promo? Punch it in on the Redeem page to claim its content.

  • What codes give — Codes can grant credits, specific cards, or bundles. Each code is single-use per account unless stated otherwise.

Your Playden (Collection)

Your private vault of holographic, serialized cards.

  • Privacy gating — A card's art is revealed to you alone. Others see a locked, censored frame until you choose to make a card public — your collection is yours.

  • Holo & 3D cards — Cards render with live holographic shaders. On a card's detail page you can drag to spin it and click to flip between front and back.

  • Serialized editions — Many cards mint as numbered editions of a template. You can own multiple editions and cycle between them when building squads.

  • Find a card — Use global pagination and filters in your collection to sift hundreds of cards quickly.

Cards, Rarity & Traits

Six tiers of prestige and 1,800+ Find-on-Mint traits.

  • Rarity tiers — Cards span six prestige tiers. Rarer cards roll more traits, stronger stats and flashier holo treatments.

  • Find-on-Mint traits — Over 1,800 themed traits can roll at mint — each adds flavor and a real combat effect (see Combat Mechanics below).

  • Named & given lore — Every card is born with a unique generated name and short backstory — no two rolls read the same.

  • Stats — Cards carry four core stats — ATK, DEF, SPD and HP — that drive every battle mode.

Leveling & Evolution

Cards grow stronger the more they fight.

  • Earn XP — Cards gain XP from Arena, Gauntlet and Cavern battles. Surviving and winning earns the most.

  • Level-ups — Each level adds a flat stat boost (up to Level 10). On a card's detail page you'll see a clear breakdown of base stats vs. the bonus 'from level-ups'.

  • Evolution — At the level cap, eligible cards can evolve — a permanent power-up with a new look. The Upgrade forge is where you reforge and enhance.

Ascend — Merge Cards Together

Merge many cards into one of a higher rarity.

  • Merge together — Ascend sacrifices 10 cards of the same rarity and merges them together into 1 brand-new card of the next rarity up (e.g. 10 commons → 1 uncommon). The 10 merged cards are recycled back to the store.

  • Not the same as Upgrade — Upgrade reforges and evolves a single card you keep. Ascend instead combines a stack of duplicates into one higher-tier card — a great way to clear extras and climb the rarity ladder.

  • Why ascend — It's the only way to manufacture a rarer card from a pile of common ones, and it costs some credits on top of the 10 sacrifices.

The Path — Skill Trees, Quests & Commissions

Your progression engine: six branching skill trees, dailies and the commission board.

  • Branching skill trees — Each of six categories (Warrior, Showrunner, Collector, Racer, Artificer, Merchant) is its own procedurally-generated 3-column × 10-row lattice — and every player's map is unique and saved.

  • Branch outward for loot — Start at the top-centre node and branch left or right. Each node you collect opens the cells diagonally below it, so you carve your own route down. Spend Skill Points per node — deeper rows cost more.

  • Randomized rewards (no credits) — Every cell pays out a random reward — gear, a card, a pack, or a permanent buff (e.g. +% quest credits, an extra daily quest). Rarity climbs with depth, all the way to Goddess at the bottom.

  • Quests — Daily and weekly quests reward Skill Points, credits and packs. The Path tab badges how many rewards are ready to claim.

  • Commission board — Take on timed commissions — beat the clock for packs, SP or fresh cards. Miss the deadline and a committed card is forfeit.

The VS Arena

Enter your cards in PvP and PvC squad battles.

  • War Room squad picker — Assemble a squad in the visual War Room — hover to preview, swap editions, and read each soldier's stats and traits before you commit.

  • PvP open challenges — Post an open challenge with a credit Challenge Entry. Set a power cap so only fairly-matched joiners can accept.

  • PvC vs the Machine — Fight an AI squad scaled to your power. Pick pre-battle modifiers to boost your odds — but each one also hands the Machine a random modifier, so it's never a free win.

  • Community Prediction Pools — Not fighting? Watch live matches and commit credits to predict the winner. Pools are pari-mutuel — you predict against OTHER PLAYERS, never the house. Rewards are paid from the shared pool. If nobody backs the other side, there's nothing to win: you only get your commitment back minus the disclosed Platform Fee.

  • Challenge Entries — Battles can require credits or cards to enter — read the lobby terms before you lock in. A loss can forfeit a committed card to the winner or the platform.

The Gauntlet (Races)

Multiplayer card races with live Community Prediction Pools.

  • Race mode — Line your card up against rivals in a turn-based race to the finish. Pick actions each turn to sprint, strike and sabotage.

  • Multiplayer lobbies — Join an open race or host your own; empty seats fill with AI so a race always runs.

  • Race loot and stakes — Competitive first place earns gear or a consumable, not new cards or credit rewards. The best-placed human collects only credits actually staked by human racers. AI stakes nothing. Last-place card forfeiture remains, with 15-minute recovery priority for newly forfeited ordinary cards.

  • Community Prediction Pools — Spectators can commit credits on the field while the race plays live. Like the Arena, pools are pari-mutuel — player vs player, not against the house — and paid from the shared pool. With no one backing another racer, a win just returns your commitment minus the disclosed Platform Fee.

The Cavern — Co-op Raids & Dungeons

Team up for interactive turn-based PvE — including multi-room Dungeons.

  • Co-op raids — Survive and win with your party to earn XP and depth loot. Each victory has a 25% card-mint chance; otherwise receive credits and a Reroll Token. Gear has a separate 60% drop chance.

  • Take your turn — On your turn, attack with your moves, heal a wounded ally (hover to pick the target), raise a shield, disrupt the boss's timers, Brace to halve an incoming hit, Interrupt a telegraphed cast, or unleash your card's special ability.

  • Dungeon Mode — Choose a 2–6 room excursion with bosses that scale in tier each room. Clear a room and you'll pause to decide what's next.

  • The Campfire — Between rooms you reach the Campfire (button-gated — leave the room to gather your loot). There the party votes to take a blessing and press deeper, or escape together with the loot banked so far.

  • Leave empty-handed — Had enough? Any single delver can leave the run alone — you exit immediately and forfeit your banked loot, but your card is freed and the rest of the party fights on.

  • Party blessings & traits — Active dungeon blessings, the monster's traits, and each card's traits are shown right in the battle view so you always know the board.

Adventure — Professions, Gathering & Crafting

Send cards to work: gather raw materials and craft equippable gear.

  • Every card has a profession — Each card is born with a rarity-weighted profession — either a Gathering trade (Mining, Herbalism, etc.) or a Crafting trade (Blacksmith, Alchemist, Enchanter, and more).

  • Stamina, not credits — Adventuring runs on per-card Stamina (not credits). Each gather or craft spends stamina; it regenerates over time. Levelling a profession grants +10% max stamina per level, so seasoned workers do more before resting.

  • Gathering nodes — Send a gatherer to its node to harvest tiered raw materials — ore, herbs, gems, essence and rarer stuff. Higher profession levels lower the stamina cost and raise the success/quality odds.

  • Crafting recipes — Crafters turn materials into equippable gear. A Tier-N recipe needs Tier-N materials, and the Satchel shows exactly what you can afford — recipes you can't build are dimmed.

  • Tiered materials & items — Materials and crafted items come in tiers. Better materials and higher craft levels produce stronger, higher-tier gear.

Gear & Loadouts

Equip Weapon, Armor, Trinket & Relic — and they fight with you everywhere.

  • Equip slots — Each card has gear slots — Weapon, Armor, Trinket and Relic — plus a consumable loadout. Equip crafted gear to a card from the Adventure screen.

  • Gear grants real power — Equipped gear stacks bonuses onto a card: % boosts to ATK/DEF/SPD/HP, combat mods (crit, lifesteal, regen…), elemental resistances, even whole new attacks or a granted ability — all shown in the card's profile and on hover under 'From Gear & Items'.

  • Randomized on craft — Crafted gear rolls its stat magnitudes AND a unique name at the moment it's made, so no two pieces are identical — some roll weak, some roll jackpot.

  • Auto-applies in battle — Whatever a card has equipped travels with it: gear + loadout automatically apply in the Arena, the Cavern and the Gauntlet. Build a card once, and it fights buffed everywhere.

Trading

Swap cards with other collectors, fairly.

  • Propose a trade — Offer your cards for someone else's. A live fairness meter and value quotes (which factor in level buffs) show whether a deal is balanced.

  • Accept or counter — Review incoming offers, accept the ones you like, or send a counter.

The Talent Show

Put a card on stage, hype the crowd, and win categories.

  • Showcase — Cards take the stage one at a time. As the owner, you can 'show off' a stat or trait to wow the room (each attribute once per turn on stage).

  • Crowd hype — Visitors holding a card can Hype the act for credits — each hype extends that card's time in the spotlight.

  • Host your own show — Schedule a public show with your own name, timing and entry settings, then share the room link so others can join.

  • Awards — When the show ends, cards win categories like Most Hyped — bragging rights for your roster.

Requests & HQ Enhancements

Ask for upgrades — including high-quality card art.

  • Submit a request — Use the Requests board to ask for features or pay credits to commission a high-quality enhancement of a specific card's image.

  • Track it — Follow the status of your request from submitted through to completed.

Tokens & Inventory

Consumables and special tokens that tilt the odds.

  • Tokens — Tokens are special items earned or bought that unlock perks. Manage them from the Player Hub (your brand badge, top-left).

  • Inventory — Consumable items live in your inventory — use them at the right moment in battles and openings for an edge.

Chat & Notifications

Stay connected and never miss a callout.

  • Global chat — The chat dock (bottom of the screen) keeps you in the loop with the whole Playden community in real time.

  • Notifications — The bell flags arena callouts, completed trades, claimable rewards, awards and more — check it often.

Combat Mechanics

How every battle — Arena, Gauntlet and Cavern — is decided.

Fights resolve on four stats: ATK (damage), DEF (mitigation), SPD (turn order) and HP (health). Cards draw from a 225-move arsenal — damage Strikes plus support moves that heal an ally, raise a shield, or disrupt the foe's attack timers — backed by a signature ability, Find-on-Mint traits and any equipped gear. Key effects you'll see:

Heal an Ally
Heal moves restore a chunk of HP to a chosen squad/party ally (hover-select) — and FULLY cleanse their DoT.
Shield / Defend
Defensive moves raise a shield that absorbs damage before it touches HP.
Disrupt
Disrupt moves set back the enemy's attack timers (cooldowns) and can slow their SPD.
Regen / Lifesteal
Heals over time, or heals the attacker for a share of the damage they deal.
Crit / Eagle Eye
Chance to land amplified critical hits.
Dodge / Phantom Step
Chance to evade an incoming attack entirely.
DoT (burn/poison)
Deals damage every turn after it lands — but any heal or Mend wipes it clean.
Stun / Interrupt
Skips a turn or breaks a monster's charging cast.

Elemental damage & resistance

Every attack carries an element. Cards (and gear) also carry resistances — a target that resists an element takes less from it, while a weakness takes more. Equipped gear can change an attack's element or add resistances, so loadout choice matters.

Kinetic
Pure physical force — the baseline attack type.
Fire
Strong burst; often applies a burn damage-over-time.
Ice / Frost
Can slow or chill, hampering enemy turn order.
Shock / Arcane
Chance to stun or interrupt a charging cast.

Where your stats & traits are used

The same card behaves differently depending on where you send it. Build it once — level it, roll good traits, and craft & equip gear — and that power carries across all three battle modes:

VS Arena
Full squad battle. Every card's ATK/DEF/SPD/HP, traits, ability AND equipped gear all apply. SPD sets turn order; Challenge Entries commit credits or cards.
The Gauntlet (Race)
SPD and race-actions drive the dash to the finish; traits and gear (e.g. speed/race boosts) still apply. Finish last in a Challenge Entry race and the card can be lost.
The Cavern (PvE)
Co-op ATB combat vs monsters. Same stats, traits, ability and gear apply; Brace, Interrupt and your ability matter most against telegraphed boss casts.
Adventure (PvE jobs)
No combat stats here — cards work using their Profession + Stamina to gather and craft. The gear they make is what powers the three battle modes above.
